Course Description: A training course for M&V practitioners on the sources, assessment and significance of uncertainties involved when evaluating savings. As M&V plans may differ greatly from each other, it can become challenging to know exactly how much confidence should be attributed to a given value. Uncertainty is the metric used to quantify this confidence; however, it has multiples sources and its calculation is specific to each of them. Join the course to acquire a better understanding of the uncertainties and their behavior in different situations.

Attendees will get an overview of the practical applications and the limitations of the Uncertainty Assessment for IPMVP published by the Efficiency Valuation Organization.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the sources of uncertainties of an M&V plan
  • Differentiate between a systematic error and a random error
  • Apply best practices to estimate the significance of the uncertainties

*You’ll earn 0.2 CEUs for this course by attending the full session and passing the final quiz with a score of 70% or higher.

*We want everyone to feel welcome and supported. If you need any ADA accommodations, just let us know — we’re happy to help. Email us at elearning@aesp.org.
