Course Description: This course defines demand side management strategies with deep dive exploration of all things demand response. Students will examine the application of both demand side management strategies and the implementation of demand response in residential, commercial and industrial settings. Furthermore, this course unpacks the communication, configuration and platforms of automated demand response and will identify typical virtual node load configurations for ADR strategy implementation.

Audience: Business owners/operators, facility managers, technicians, and utility program managers.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Describe and analyze various types of demand side management strategies
  • Explore the value proposition of demand side management in residential, commercial and industrial facilities. 
  • Review current regulations and utility incentives
  • Define demand response and explore its application and control protocols
  • Describe and analyze automated demand response communication, configuration, and platforms.


*Attendees must earn an 70% or higher on the final course test in order to earn 0.4 CEUs.
