Join the AESP Evergreen Chapter at Georgetown Steam Plant for this special tour into Seattle's energy history! Co-hosted with Seattle City Light, the event will feature:
- A guided tour of this hundred year old plant, ahead of its time in construction processes; and
- Led by former AESP Evergreen board member Jim Perich-Anderson: The opening presentation of 'Seattle's Journey to Cleaner Energy', a tale of innovation and intrigue leading Seattle from downtown coal plants to international clean energy leadership.
Important Details (also in Eventbrite link):
- September 4th, 5-7pm.
- Refreshments and nonalcoholic beverages to be provided.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes.
- The steam plant is usually 10-20 degrees cooler than outside so dress accordingly for comfort.
- There is temporary wheelchair and walker access installed but there is no access to the second floor except via a steep set of stairs.
- The building does not have a working restroom but there is a well-maintained porta potty also on site for visitors.
